It was Sunday at noon, the sky cloudy and windy. My son and I had planned to attend a gathering near the Dom Luís I Bridge. Unfortunately, since it was Sunday and the streets were busy, we arrived late and missed our friends. So, we decided to make the best of it and explore the city on our own. We headed toward the cathedral, and along the way, I told my son: “If there's anything you'd like to eat or drink, let me know now so we can plan. Maybe juice? Toast with hot chocolate? A croissant? Even ice cream?” Earlier, as we walked through Rua de Santa Catarina, he had said, “I wish we had grabbed something to eat here,” and I promised we would on the way back.
